Akintunde Akinleye is a Nigerian photographer. He is the the first Nigerian to have been awarded in the World Press Photo, in 2007. This is the photo that won the award. The photo was taken in December 2006 during a petroleum gas pipeline explosion in Lagos. Akinleye has had his work exhibited all over the continent.
